ABOUT THE HISTORY OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Nearly over 450 millions speakers all over the world and being the medium for 80% of the information stored in the world’s computers, English is the most widespread language in the world. English basically originated in England, think again! The heart of the English language is actually German. Since the long time ago during the sixth century AD, three Germanic tribes, which were called the Saxons, The Angles, The Jutes invaded Britain. These fierce tribesmen from parts of north Germany and Denmark arrived in Britain and brought with them their own languages, which developed into the language we now classify as Old English.

The inhabitants of Britain were Celtic-speaking but these were eventually driven out of their own lands and forced to flee to places like Scotland, Wales and even to Brittany on the coast of France, where their descendants still speak the Celtic language to day.

Meanwhile the fierce warlike tribes introduced their own languages  into the Britain where, through the years the three different languages molded together to from the language we would today call Old English.  One can think that Old English too is a form of English, and you can be able to somewhat understand what it means. Well, as you can se from the extract of the poem “Beowulf” written in Old English that is very difficult to understand indeed. It can only be ready the English experts.

Middle English
Old English was spoken until all over the world nearly 1200. Then just as three Germanic tribes had invaded England, now William the Conqueror, Duke of Edinburgh, invaded and conquered England in 105Ad. Just like the Germanic tribes had brought in their own languages, so did William the conqueror. His nobles spoke French and so instead of Old English, French became the languages of the government.

The reality is that now English was considered to be vulgar tongue, and the language of the lower classes. But upto 14th Century, the tables had turned once again and as the influence of William wore out, English became dominant in Britain once again. The only changing now was that there were many French words added into English  language, a melting pot of English and French became known as Middle English. Middle English is far easier to interpret than Old English.

Modern English
After sometimes ago, above mentioned changes began to come into English, Imagine a colorfully knitted rug. All those different threads and colours have become fused together to form one smooth, flowing cloth. In the same way Middle English had influences from all sorts of different people, such as French, Greek and Latin and English language took some of the words from these cultures and they became part of the smooth, flowing language we know today as English Language.

At that time, the British Empires were also undergoing many different changes. Events like the Industrial Revolution and the Renaissance (period of development) meant that there was a need for new words to identify new things like new machinery that were invented.

The British Empire was constantly changing. Britain had acquired many colonies all over the globe. As the British empire expanded all over the world such as India, Australia, Malaysia and even parts of Africa, The English language continued to change as newer words, borrowed from all these different cultures, were added to the English vocabulary. British people were sent to rule over the conquered places in the world like in India and as the British interacted with the local people, new words were added to the English language vocabulary. At last the English language is still a very versatile language and it continues to change and develop each year, with hundreds of new words being introduced and added to our vocabulary. Despite all the borrowed words from other languages the heart of the English language remains the Anglo-Saxon version of Old English and the grammar is still distinctly Germanic.

After sometimes her elder brother named Shahnawaz Bhutto was given poison and killed  in France . Her second brother named Meer Murtaza Bhutto was also killed  on 20th April 1996. She was a privileged child and took the mantle of power from her father, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto they fiery and magnetic founder of Pakistan People Party who himself would become a martyr for democracy.

Benazir Bhutto Shaheed dedicated her whole life to Pakistan and its browbeaten people. Never did she compromise with the anti-democratic and fanatic mindsets which wanted Pakistan to a core of radicalism and violence, in a state of rigidity. She continued her fighting to prevent Pakistan from falling into the ruthless hands of militant terrorists.

After killing of these three persons her mother was seemed just like a dead body. Despite these inhuman circumstances we find her as a brave lady to be farsighted bearing every pain from the martyrdom of her father to the slaying of her two brothers. A whole volley of distress and difficulties was hurled on the Bhutto family, valiantly borne by Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.

Becoming one of the youngest Prime Ministers of the world at the age of 35, she carried forward the mantle of her martyred father actualizing 0her people’s dreams. She was elected the Chief executive of a country where rule of a woman was indefensible.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET DECEMBER 27 EVERY YEAR, when in bloody and mourning evening, Benazir Bhutto was killed by shooting in her head at Liaqat Bagh Rawalpindi by unknown person when she was coming down from the stage of speaking on 27th December 2007. When Bhutto was a minister, I used to live here; I used to go to a school at Rawalpindi, I have seen moments of joy and gloomy times in Rawalpindi. She said that the brave people of Rawalpindi have been with me in moments of happiness, brave sisters and brothers of this city stood by me in  hours of our sadness, they will never let me alone.

Now Benazir Bhutto is not in this world but her name is still settled in our hearts. That is why we love much to Benazir Bhutto and she will remain in touch within our hearts and souls for ever.

HUNGER & POVERTY IN PAKISTAN

WHY ARE WOMEN OPPRESSED ?

US spends billion for Nuclear Weapons

United States spends billions on “modernizing” nuclear weapons

The United States plans to spend billions to upgrade a decades old atomic bomb designed to stop a Soviet invasion of Europe, as part of a controversial project to modernize its nuclear arsenal.

Some  lawmakers and experts dismiss the effort as a colossal waste of money that could derail arms control talks with Russia.

Washington removed thousands of tactical atomic weapons from Europe after the Cold War ended. But B61 bombs remain in Europe, the only American nuclear weapon still deployed on the continent, at NATO bases in Germany, Belgium, Italy etc.

The President of Untied States has also planned upgraded the various models of the bomb would be replaced by a modified version which would have a smaller and more accuracy.

The improvements are needed as the weapons/instruments are aging and will gradually deteriorate according the Pentagon.

According to a statement, these types of bombs and weapons contains antiquated technology and requires frequent handling for maintenance.

This type of modernization also will allow the Barak Obama to retire the most powerful atomic bombs which reduce the overall amount of nuclear material in the arsenal.
This approach will allow the time reductions in the total number of nuclear weapons. The US president Mr. Obama has also called for more progress in scalling back US and Russian nuclear stockpiles and in a speech in Berlin in June, in which he promised to work with NATO to seek bold reductions in tactical nuclear weapons in Europe.

For skeptics the projects looks overly ambitious at this time of budget austerity, when the Air Force is already planning for major spending on the fighter jets that has a new long arrange bomber and new cruise missile.

Barak Obama has also touted fresh weapons and arms  control negotiations with Russia as a priority but making improvements for bomb could undermine prospects for any deal with Collina, Mosco etc.

It is certainly indicated that the United States puts upgrade B61 bombs which are more accurate in Europe, Russian and will probably has response positively.

When NATO leaves Afghanistan

Afghanistan is a weak country by militarily, economically and politically. It needs the agreement with NATO. It is has to make a very pragmatic choice accept t the American aids here to face a very uncertain future with no country willing to help it.

United States wants to sign the pact soon as possible but President Karzai want s to wait it out fill till the next presidential elections to be held in coming year 2014 in Afghanistan.

Afghani President will sign the agreement for sure, and will play a political game to present him as a man protecting national sovereignty but that will be over soon.

After the Taliban was dislodged from Kabul in 2001, NATO’ international Security Assistance force was mandated by the UN Security Council to assist the Afghan government fighting insurgency and support the growth of Afghan security forces.
The US is the strongest country in the globe so therefore A partnership with United States would prevent it neighbors from interfering. It government has to make it understand that the bases are not a danger for it.

According to the NATO, there are 85000 international troops present in Afghanistan till now most of them US comes into place and foreign soldiers could stay till 2014.

The agreement will be detrimental for this country because of its neighbors will be extremely vexed and will try to expel the Americans from the region by arming insurgents for its sovereignty and prosperity. Some point out that the presence of international soldiers have not stopped neighbors from interfering in Afghanistan internal and external affairs.

So it is stated that the American military bases are unacceptable for its neighbors and to insurgents who could even launch  another Jehad against foreign troops. So it is also mentioned that this country must strengthen its own army with more weapons and instruments having training to fight against foreign military for her defence and prosperity.
