Historic US Gold Coin

Historic US gold coin fetches $4.6million at auction ceremony.

Two antique American gold coins sold for  more than $ 7.8 million there in Florida during an auction ceremony which was held on Friday. The first gold coin ever mad e for the United States has fetched S44,582,500,. A nickel was made at the Philadelphia Mint in 1913 which was once featured in an episode of the 1970 television shows and raised S3.3 million.

The legendary Brasher Doubloon is one of the most important coins in American history because it is the first gold coin struck for the young US and its one of only a handful that exist, said by the Heritage Auction President. This doubloon has been off the market since it was bought by a Chicago resident in 1979 for $430,000. This coin was also featured in Raymond adapted into a film noir released as the Brasher Doubloon.
