France, china fete 50 years since recognition

France and China begin year-long celebrations next week to mark 50 years since Paris became the first Western power to recognize the Communist government, paving the way for Beijing global acceptance.

Both sides will highlight former French president and World War II resistance hero’s decision during the Cold War to launch full diplomatic relations, breaking ranks with the United States and other Western powers.

When there was January 27, 1964 announcement came against the backdrop of the nuclear missile crisis, the rupture between China and the Soviet Union and the Veitnam war.

Despite this, experts agree that economic ties between the Asian giant and the eurozone’s second economy remain well below potential. The French recognition came, at the opportune time for Beijing, which had split with the Soviet Union on ideological grounds and because of conflicting national interests, thereby fracturing the international communist movement.

The decision not only shook up the bipolar order at the heart of the Cold War but also was a breakthrough in the building of a multiplier world.

It is a visionary decision with respect to a great power in the making whose importance in world affairs today bears testimony to this.

By way of comparison, full diplomatic relations between China and Britain were only established in 1972 and 1979 with the US.

The celebrations include exhibition in China showcasing the works of leading French artists such as impressionist painter etc.

France is keen however to close a huge trade deficit totaling 26 billion Euros in 2012. Relations again soured after former president spiritual leader  in Poland.
In response, Chinese prime minister Wen Jiabao omitted France in his tour of Europe, his assistant foreign minister arguing that the one who tied the know should be the one who unties it.

War Tension Between Japan & China

WORLD WAR ONE ECHOES IN JAPAN-CHINA TENSIONS.

Japanese Prime Minister has said  that Japan and China should avoid repeating the past mistakes of Britain and Germany, which fought in World War One despite their deep economic ties.
Japanese Prime Minister Abe has said that China and Japan were in a similar situation to Britain and Germany before 1914, whose close economic ties had not prevented the conflict.
Abe has also said that China’s steady rise in military spending was a major source of regional instability.
According to the Abe’s comments it should by no means be interpreted to mean that war between the two Asian giants was possible, nothing that the rule of law not armed forces and threats were needed for peace and prosperity in Asia.
Sino-Japanese ties, Long plagued by what Beijing sees as Japan’s failure to atone for its occupation of parts of China in the 1930s and 1940s, have worsened recently due to a territorial row, Tokyo’s mistrust of Beijing’s military buildup and Abe’s December visit to a shrine that critic say glorifies Japan’s wartime past.
Asked if China and Japan might clash militarily, but Abe replied that such a conflict would be great loss not only for Japan and China but for the world and we need to make sure such a thing would not happen.
Japanese Prime Minister said that China and Japan, the world’s second and third largest economies respectively have deep business sties and bilateral trade that we worth nearly 335U$ billion in 2012.
China criticized Abe’s historical reference, it would be better to face up to what Japan did to China before the war and in recent history that to say stuff about pre-World War One British-German relations, foreign Minister spokesman.
According to the US secretary, visit to China last week, it was stressed from both sides that they must avoid unilateral action to assert maritime claims, and that China should work with its neighbors to reduce tension in the East and South China seas.
At last Abe, (Japanese Prime Minster) has stressed by telling that we must restrain military expansion in Asia, which could otherwise go unchecked.
Military budgets should be made completely transparent and there should be public disclosure in a form that can be verified adding disputes should be resolved through dialogue and the rule of law and not through force and coercion. He did not single out China by name.

Man Lives in Sea

Thursday, 23 January 2014

Miracle, Man lives 2 days in sea without food and water.

By catching baby eels on a beach off the east coast of Taiwan when a man named Tseng Lien swept away by an unexpectedly large wave.

According to the media report the 42 years old managed to grape hold of a floating wooden coffin lid as he was taken away from the shore in Hualien county.

He told that I managed to hlld on as the first wave hit me on the chest, but I was overwhelmed by the second and bigger wave. On the lid, I was drifting and drifting. During that period I hoped I could be picked u p by tiny ships passing by. His fiancé, who is expecting a baby next month raised the alarm when he did  not return home on time. He had been fishing to make extra  money. the strong waves eventually carried him onto a beach in the southeastern country of Taitung, 46 miles away.

After his medical treatment, doctors said he was slightly dehydrated and had developed sores on his arms due to being in the seawater for so long. Considering the fact that he had not taken in any food or water while drifting at sea for about 60 hours and he remained conscious, all about him was that this was a miracle. He had now promised his fiancée he would stop the fishing trip.

Poliomyelitis in Pakistan

Polio may cripple Pakistan’s future

It is fact that Pakistan fails to make a dramatic turnaround in its fight against polio; its international standing could be compromised. Donor and other multilateral agencies have already warned official authorities that Pakistani citizens may face travel restrictions and tougher visa policies if the polio virus is not eradicated.
Event the World Health organization (WHO) has also suggested that Pakistan is now losing its battle against polio. A quick review of world fighters highlights that it was the only polio endemic country with higher number of reported cases compared to the previous year. The figures are disturbing for Pakistan as the polio virus has resurfaced after being on the average of eradication from the country. A lot of polio cases were found in Pakistan. Even Afghanistan, Pakistan’s much poorer and war-ravaged neighbor, fared better and only 11 cases of polio came to light in that country.
The government of Pakistan recognizes non-uniform routine immunization coverage due to security challenges As the biggest hurdle in its battle against polio. More than half of the country cases came from the volatile, north western province of KPK. The conservative region has faced the brunt of militancy in recent years and continues to play host to millions of Afghan refugees and other vulnerable mobile population groups. The Taliban have banned polio vaccinations in the tribal regions and frequently attach health workers leading anti-polio drive. As polio campaigners struggle to reach some of the most far flung areas in these regions because of security fears and poor infrastructure, the disease continues to spread throughout the country.
Pakistan can learn vital lessons from its neighbor India, who has been successful in completely eradicating the crippling virus. Like India, Pakistan faces similar challenges of high population growth rate, poor sanitation, weak infrastructure, low expenditure on health services, and lack of trust in anti-polio campaigns. Yet it was able to beat the disease through a well – focused strategy of the government that partnered with various stakeholders and mobilized community support. By organizing huge collective effort and then rigorously following up on the set goals the Indian government was finally able to defeat polio. India’s success story also largely hinged upon the hectic efforts put in by health workers to increase awareness about the disease and implement the innovative strategies.
There is a dire need to restore confidence of health workers in the security arrangements made for polio vaccination campaigns in Pakistan. Local health authorities must also show a greater commitment to monitor the immunization drives and conduct them on a more regular basic, especially in the most backward areas of Pakistan. The government should team up with religious circles and other influential figures to remove the misconceptions surrounding polio vaccination. Health bodies in all districts need to be empowered to chalk out their own execution plans keeping in mind cultural economic and other sensitivities unique to each area.

Taliban in Pakistan

Different between Taliban & Pakistan

It is truly that we are realizing that the country is in a state of war. Because it is now a state of emergency. The Taliban have now started dictating to everyone on television and through television anchors. Their strategy has changed. They are now targeting personalities, individuals and media people directly. This to create fear and dread in order to achieve their desired results. The talks offer by the Taliban and a powerful bomb blast close to the GHQ at the same time is a clear message the Taliban are not serous and are playing a joke on Pakistanis. There are now leaving them with no option but to fight so why not fight. Why should they end up in a closed tunnel. The government must leave aside everything else, their bickering, personal vendettas, self aggrandizement, vindictiveness and extremist views or values. Why the Pakistani must on hands on take the lead to differentiate between Pakistanism and Talibanism. We must strengthen the hands on armed forces, security institutions and law enforcement agencies to fully be able to fight the terrorists. Most of Pakistanis are now still wandering in the wilderness as to who is right and who is wrong. This is because our governments  have not performed well and we lack seriousness. We have not been able to bring effective replacements in the post-operation areas. The media has not sensed the situation of war and emergency, nor is it interested in creating awareness. The state and government machinery are not doing their due to train and educate people in dealing with terror situations  in times of emergency. It seems as if we are not even interested in hunger, corruption, lawlessness and other ills. So we have to wake up and let us discuss our problems, exposé the corrupt and somehow generate a situation whereby we can save Pakistan from terrorist, extremists, sectarianism and the corrupt ruling etc. For this purpose we have to come out from our homes, office, schools against the corrupt ruler, government and corrupt democracy.
